Dr. Rashad Richey

Dr. Rashad Richey is the first ever Emmy-nominated political analyst for CBS News Atlanta, an award-winning talk radio personality, and a noted university professor and lecturer who has provided lecture series for the University of Michigan, Morehouse School of Medicine, Clark Atlanta University, and other notable institutions, ranging in topics from equitable policies to quantum physics. Professor of Applied Physics at OcuPrep Medical Institute in Gwinnett County, Georgia, Dr. Richey dually serves as Director of Institutional Advancement & Corporate Relations and Professor at Morris Brown College.

Known as the trailblazing President of Rolling Out Magazine, the largest free-print urban publication in America, Dr. Richey has interviewed everyone from United States Vice-President Kamala Harris to Ice Cube. As host of the award-winning Rashad Richey Morning Show on News & Talk 1380 – WAOK and V-103 FM (HD3), Dr. Richey was voted Best Talk Radio Personality by readers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Magazine, making him the first Black broadcaster to receive this distinction.

Understanding the importance of ‘narrative’, Dr. Richey is also the daily opinion news anchor for the national TV news show Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey, which is nationally syndicated on 12 linear cable networks, and recently ranked ‘fastest-growing news show in America’, by Hicks Evaluation Group, with 3 – 5 million viewers a day. The show’s companion Facebook Watch and YouTube pages have a combined subscription of 1.9 million followers. Coupled with Dr. Richey’s SirusXM Urban View show, The Dr. Rashad Richey Review, and his podcast Indisputable, which is ranked in the top 5% of most listened-to podcasts in America, Dr. Richey is noted as one of the most influential scholars and social scientists in American culture by the national publication, America News Now.

Appointed by current Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens to the South River Forest and Public Safety Training Community Task Force, Dr. Richey has successfully helped government and private sector organizations navigate tough policy challenges for the benefit of communities at large. He has received numerous awards and recognitions from US presidents, members of Congress, and community organizations across the country.

Dr. Richey completed doctoral research studies at Clark Atlanta University in federal policy reform and earned his second Ph.D. from the Business University of Costa Rica, where his research focused on the intersectionality of politics and religion contextualized through national policy norms. He also completed studies in executive leadership from Cornell University. Dr. Richey additionally holds a Doctor of Law (LLD) from Azteca University in International Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Renaissance.

Being a multidisciplinary scholar, Dr. Richey finished his MBA from Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA. Wanting to understand more about the functionality of the human brain, Dr. Richey obtained his Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Pacific, where his master’s thesis critically analyzed the phenomenon known as brain entrainment. After completing 43 full-length courses in physics from MIT through their Open Course Ware program, Dr. Richey enrolled in a Master of Science program in Applied Physics and Quantum Mechanics at Universidad Empresarial, where he completed his master’s degree in January 2023 and is now the Professor of Applied Physics at OcuPrep Medical Institute and lectures at Morehouse School of Medicine. His master’s thesis was adapted into book format and is now the best-selling physics book on the Amazon Platform. Currently, Dr. Richey is less than 1 year away from finishing his Juris Doctor (law degree) degree at Birmingham School of Law and has received advanced acceptance into Harvard Law School’s specialty international finance and commerce program. Being a person who cares deeply about solving challenges at the community level, Dr. Richey mentors and deprograms gang-affected and gang-affiliated youth through his nonprofit, The Rashad Richey Foundation.

Dr. Richey is America’s youngest inductee into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame and was recently inducted into the very exclusive National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame, where trailblazing leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Justice Thurgood Marshall, Oprah Winfrey, and Ambassador Andrew Young, are all honored recipients.
